James Hare Silks

Suitable for upholstery with 35,000 rub test

Carnaby is a pile velvet with a high lustre developed for curtains and upholstery. Curtains and furniture should be made with the pile down to optimise the richness of the fabric. It is not suitable for blinds. Due to the natural movement of the fabric, we recommend that curtains are designed puddled to the floor.

Pressure marking will appear during handling, this is a natural characteristic of a pile velvet and not considered a flaw. To remove flattened areas, vaporise the fabric and smooth with a soft brush.

As this fabric is over 75% natural fibres, in the UK it may be used untreated over an FR interliner which passes BS5852 Part 2 Ignitions source S. Upholstery foam should be covered in a polyester wrap and stockinette to prevent pile drag from the reverse.
