Silks & Crystals Hand-Made in Scotland is a collection of Textiles like Roman Blinds and Lampshades, together with Bridal and Special Occasion Wear & Accessories. Made in Wester Ross on the far North-West Coast of the Scottish Highlands & Islands, just for you. In the scenic Scottish Highlands amidst grand castles and secluded sandy beaches, beauty is second nature to us. It's hard not to be inspired by the abundance of natural beauty in this remote area. Silk is the epitome of natural beauty, and I am truly passionate about providing only the best quality and most exquisite designs. I like to use the nature which surrounds, for promotional product images where possible.
My love of silk was the starting point for the business and with nowhere local to purchase quality clothing, I often made my own in order to get that something different. I love to shop but was frequently disappointed at both the quality and style of items available. This, in turn, led to the decision to specialise in the finest of silk fabrics before expanding to include quality bridal and evening wear accessories.
In making beautiful products I use only the finest of materials in my choice of pure silk fabrics from James Hare, many embellished with the purest of Austrian Crystals. My use of crystals is in a ‘Less is More’ way, using the smallest of crystals, with the sole purpose of accentuating and complimenting, the stunningly beautiful fabrics they sit on!
A sample service is offered, whereby you can feel and touch the fabrics for your accessory or textile. For those within travelling distance of the studio, you can come and choose your fabrics, colours and design. Visits to the studio are strictly by appointment only since Covid.
You can also buy all the raw materials for making your own items! You will find most things on our website to complete your entire project from start to finish, including but not limited to, pure silk fabrics from one of the world leaders James Hare for which we are an authorised seller, to notions/haberdashery from Prym. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, we can probably get it for you so please do ask…
